Alastair McAllister

Alastair enjoys an international reputation as a harpsichord maker, having made instruments for customers in the USA, Europe, Asia and New Zealand, as well as Australia. Recently completed commissions include instruments for Charles Darwin University, N.T., Camberwell Girls Grammar School, Melbourne, and the Melbourne Recital Hall. He is currently working on a large harpsichord for private ownership in Switzerland.

Alastair has an impressive discography of his instruments, many of which have been constructed with extensive use of Australian native timbers. He is the appointed Australian Agent for the US-based Zuckerman Harpsichords International Inc.

In 2012 Alastair published three books – Talking Harpsichords, Sonnets And Sundries and a small volume, Snippets About John Bull, commemorating 450 years since the birth of the enigmatic Englishman.
